COLUMBUS, NC. – Alyce Stone Sanders Poe, 92, of Columbus died December 1, 2020, in Landrum, SC. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Carlos W. and Jeanne Stone. She was a life-long homemaker and bookkeeper, and a member of Tryon Presbyterian Church. Survivors are husband, Larry Poe of Columbus, two sons, John P. (Phil) Sanders, Jr of St Augustine, FL and Matt Sanders of Greenville, SC, a grandson, John P. (Trey) Sanders III of Jacksonville, FL, a niece, Katie Springer of Greeley, Colo, and three step-daughters, Holly Poe Durbin of Orange, Calif, Cynthia Poe of Toledo, Ohio and Laurel Gallagher or LaGrange, Ill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John P. Sanders, and a sister, Betty Jane Yates. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
