Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Join Conserving Carolina in a guided nature walk through the beautiful Walnut Creek Preserve. Landowner Babs Strickland and Conserving Carolina’s Southeast Stewardship Manager, Pam Torlina, will lead us through an approximately four-mile loop, starting at the Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center. We will encounter some moderate limbs up and down as we explore four coves, which will include a rest and snack stop at a waterfall before beginning the climb back up to the Nature Center.
This hike is perfect for families, so bring the kids! To help keep everyone safe during this time, space is limited, and family “pods” will stay together to help stop the spread of Covid.
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring a bag lunch and/or snack and plenty of water for yourself.

In case of inclement weather, call the Conserving Carolina office, ext. 300, before 8:45 a.m. on the date of the hike, and/or check our Facebook page and calendar. Please also remember to bring any medication that you may need in the event of an emergency (ie: epinephrine, nitroglycerine, insulin, etc.). Hike leaders will carry a first aid kit; however, it may not contain specific medication for your individual needs.
Before each hike, you will be asked to sign a waiver form. For your safety, do not attempt any hike beyond your ability and experience. This schedule is subject to change.
RSVP required by email. Space is limited. For more information or to RSVP email meredith@conservingcarolina.org. More information and details will follow after registration.
