TRYON — Milegé “Zana” Juhré Hahn, age 94, of Tryon, NC, passed away on July 24th, 2020 at her apartment at Tryon Estates.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on July 6th, 1926 to William and Grace Juhré, Milegé graduated from Dundee Community High School in 1944. She went on to receive a Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado in 1948. She also received a Masters of Education from the University of Virginia in 1969.

While at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Milegé met her future husband, John “Jack” Francis Hahn, originally of Evanston, IL. They married on August 31, 1947 and had five children together. They lived in Chicago, IL until they moved to Charlottesville, VA in 1952. They continued to live in Charlottesville until they retired to Tryon, NC in 1989.

Milegé worked as an audiologist for 20 years at Moon, Wallenborn, Sydnor, and Eastham, Ltd in Charlottesville. She was an avid amateur photographer, a voracious reader, an enthusiastic gardener, and enjoyed hiking and traveling. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Tryon.

Milegé is survived by four children: Peter Hahn of Virginia Beach, VA; William “Bill” Hahn of Crozet, VA; David Hahn of Sandston, VA; and Suzanne “Sue” Hahn of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Tim Hahn and Laura Allegood and one great-granddaughter, Harper Hahn, all of Virginia Beach, VA.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and her son, Jeffrey Stephen Hahn.

Due to current community health concerns, no firm date for a memorial service has been established. Milegé will be buried beside Jack Hahn at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Ivy, VA.
