Thank you Tryon
It is now past the twentieth of April and we do not have any cases of Covid 19 in our city limits that I am aware of. I do not know where to begin to thank you for your ability to shelter in place as much as possible. I have said since the beginning that we should listen to our health care professionals and follow their directions. I have not changed that belief. Thank you, Tryon, for following health care professionals instructions.
Because of the general age of our citizens, it has been imperative that we not contract this virus. I am as concerned as any of you. I have spent my days working crossword puzzles, painting rooms, working on picture frames, reading several books, sending some emails to my track teams, driving my wife to distraction, and watching more television than I should.
Harriet and I ride about our Town each day to see the general status of our area. We have had little crime and few problems from foolish people. At the end of the week we will have ridden almost every street in Tryon several times. We are usually in our blue Ford Ranger with the flag attached to the door. The other day I ordered a pizza and the young lady came out to deliver it and could not find me. I was driving Harriet’s station wagon.
Speaking of food; please order from our local restaurants and help keep them viable, so that we can keep our restaurants operating as well as the retail stores in the forseeable future.
It is not going to be easy for the next few months as we transition back to some semblance of normalcy. Please bear with all of us to include the Town, our neighbors, our friends, and people in general. In order for us to continue to be successful, we must all work together. I have seen support and kindness from citizens like I have not seen in years. Let us not forget what it will take to get us back onto our feet; and let’s remember what we need to do to continue this coming together of our Town.
Nearly perfect! Always Tryon!
