The Isothermal spring graduation ceremonies have been postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The commencement ceremony for college curriculum programs will now be held on Monday, June 15, at 7:00 p.m. The College and Career Readiness graduation, which includes adult high school and GED, will be on Tuesday, June 16, also at 7:00 p.m.

Both ceremonies, which typically take place in mid-May, will be held at the Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center.

“I am proud of our students who have adjusted admirably to unprecedented times and our faculty and staff, who have done the same,” said President Walter Dalton on Wednesday when the change was announced. “While we regret our graduation ceremonies must be moved to June, we must keep the health and safety of all concerned foremost in our decisions.”

The Rutherford Early College High School graduation will be held on Thursday, June 11. Several other ceremonies, including nursing pinning’s, will be rescheduled as well and announced at a later date.

The college has been closed to students and the public since late March and is now offering online instruction only with few exceptions in areas like health and public safety. It is anticipated this will continue well into the month of May. College officials are continuing to monitor the rapidly changing situation and are making necessary adjustments, said Mike Gavin, the college’s director of Marketing and Community Relations.
