The computer lab at the Isothermal Polk Center in Columbus will be open to students who need computer and Internet access to complete coursework.

Isothermal Community College is currently offering online courses in response the Covid-19 pandemic. There are few exceptions where face-to-face instruction will happen in the Health and Public Services areas.

The computers at Polk will be available to Isothermal students only. The Polk Center remains closed to the public and for face-to-face instruction for the foreseeable future.

The lab will open, starting on Monday, April 6. The hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Officials said Friday that students will be verified upon entry and asked to wash their hands. The computers in the lab will be appropriately spaced and no more than 10 people will be admitted at any time.

This move is designed to enhance the availability of computers for students during the week at the library on the Spindale main campus. The library lab is open Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
