The incident occurred on Tuesday, when Spartanburg County deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Melvin Hill road in Campobello. Deputies arrived just before 6 a.m. and saw a Chevy Equinox attempting to leave the residence. A deputy used his vehicle to block Harmon’s car and approached the driver to speak with her.

According to the sheriff report, Harmon told the deputy she had punched her husband in the arm and would do it again.

Deputies then asked Harmon to step out of the vehicle, but she locked the doors and presented a firearm, pointing it at the deputy, and then herself, according to the report.

The deputy pulled his firearm and told Harmon to put the gun down and exit the vehicle, the report says. A second deputy arrived and also attempted to get Harmon to put down the gun. The report says Harmon also pointed the gun at the second deputy.

Other deputies then arrived and after negotiations, Harmon eventually rolled down her window and surrendered the gun.

The report says that deputies spoke to Harmon’s husband, who said the two had been arguing all day and that Harmon threatened to harm herself.

Harmon was transported to the Spartanburg County Detention Center where she was later released.
