Rabies clinic to be held April 4

Polk County Animal Control will sponsor a Rabies Clinic on Saturday, April 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Tryon Fire Department located at 56 West Howard Street in Tryon. Shot will be performed for a minimal cost by Dr. Kelly Sulik, DVM.
You must have proof of current rabies vaccine for a 3 year vaccine. The Foothills Humane Society will offer low cost spay/neuter vouchers. Call the spay/neuter information hotline 828-863-4444.

In accordance with NC General Statute 130A-185, all dogs, cats and ferrets must be kept currently vaccinated against rabies. Although it is not required by law, horses should be kept currently vaccinated also.
**Pursuant to Polk County Ordinances, you can be cited for**Not Having Required Rabies Vaccination of Dogs and Cats-$100.00 and/or Not Wearing Vaccination Tag and Certification-$100.00.
