Funds to be used for health and safety trailer
COLUMBUS—The Polk County Health and Human Services Agency was recently awarded a $17,500 grant.
The Polk County Board of Commissioners met Monday and heard from HHSA Director Joshua Kennedy regarding the grant.
The grant came from Dogwood Trust.
Kennedy said his department requested the grant to help support the county’s general preparedness efforts and equipment.
“The funds will be used to purchase a trailer and supplies to stock the trailer with safety and protective equipment,” Kennedy said.
Commissioners also approved a budget amendment to transfer the funding to the HHSA department.
