Nancy Jane Dunn, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully Monday, February 24, 2020.

 

Born on May 17, 1934, in Paris, Texas, she graduated from the University of Arkansas and earned a Masters at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a passionate supporter of music and the arts her entire life.

She served as church organist and choir director at Tryon Presbyterian Church and was a vocal, chamber and community chorus accompanist. She served on the board of the Tryon Dance Guild, was a member of the Foothills Music Club and was an ordained elder at Tryon Presbyterian Church.

 

She and her late husband, Charles, helped establish and performed in the Gilbert and Sullivan Savoyards in Evansville, IN, Greenwood, SC and Tryon. After moving to Greenville, she was a charter resident at The Cascades.

 

Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Charles, and is survived by their four children, Jennifer Yarborough, Amy Monroe, Lucy Dunn, Charles Dunn and their spouses.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren. 

 

A private family memorial service will be held in Tryon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC, 29680.
