The North Carolina and South Carolina Collaborative Advanced Manufacturing Job Fair Event was a success! Despite the rain on February 24, approximately 65 job seekers attended along with eight manufacturing employers; four from NC and four from SC.
Participating employers included North Carolina-based Bulldog Machining, PSU, AZP and Buildz as well as Michelin, Cooper Standard, JIT Manufacturing and Carver by Covercraft from South Carolina. The event was held at Polk County’s Tryon International Equestrian Center.
This was the first collaborative hiring event that crossed state lines that involved state and workforce staff from both NCWorks as well as SCWorks.
Exit surveys from both jobseekers and businesses confirmed that everyone was extremely satisfied, so much so that there is already discussions about holding future events for other sectors such as Allied Health and Hospitality and Tourism
Region C Workforce Development Board is grateful for the partnership and support of our counterparts from SC and the opportunity to serve jobseeker and business customers throughout the region while not being inhibited by boundaries. We realize there are thousands of individuals who drive across state and county lines each day to work and spend their income in their home communities. We will continue to work together to promote talent finding jobs — and jobs finding talent!
