MILL SPRING – Joyce Walker McCraw, 75, of Mill Spring went home to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, February 27, 2020 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Walker and Willie Belle Keever Walker. Mrs. McCraw was a cosmetologist owning her own shop, Bee-Luv-Lee Salon in Mill Spring for many years. Later, she worked for Polk County Transportation until her retirement. The world revolved around her children and grandchildren and she loved working outside, canning, cooking and sewing. Mrs. McCraw was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Mill Spring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Houser, Jane Skipper and Elizabeth Powell; three brothers, Horace Walker, Alvin Walker and Garland Walker.

 

Surviving is her loving husband of 57 years, Clarence Alvin McCraw; one son, Monte McCraw (Rebecca); one daughter, Melissa Henderson (Keith); six grandchildren, Amanda Rice, McKenzie Conner (Austin), Luke Burton, Joshua Henderson, Davis Henderson and Hollis Henderson; one sister, Nell Blanton; one brother, Kenneth Walker (Brenda). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, February 29, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.

 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Charlie Jackson and Pastor Sam Henderson officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring.

 

At other times, the family will be at the home.
