On February 13, the Abraham Kuykendall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented two students from Polk County Middle School with certificates for their American History Essay.

The essays were about the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower and founding of Plymouth Colony. The students had to write about the tools and supplies they would bring, the voyage and after two months at the colony, how they survived.

The winners were Ian Stafford (7th grade) and Sarah Elizabeth Gray (8th grade). Congratulations to each of them.
