Fractions hit Polk Central students’ eyes like a big pizza pie

Students in Lori Byars’ third grade class at Polk Central Elementary have been studying fractions.

To help students understand the many concepts involving fractions, students used pizzas.

Students figured out how to divide the pizza equally, the fractional part each student would receive and how they could cut the pizzas differently to represent equivalent fractions.
