In its ninth year and still going strong, Have a HeArt features the work of area artists in a silent auction held at the Upstairs Artspace to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. The gallery is open this week, noon to 5:00 p.m. through Friday, January 24, with a closing reception on Saturday, January 25 at 4:30 p.m.
The public is encouraged to visit the gallery and place bids on favorite pieces, not only in support of the mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters, but also as a gesture of appreciation to all of the artists who so generously donated their work. Various styles are represented in the show, including ceramic, wood, metal, painting, fiber, jewelry, stained glass and mixed media. The auction offers a great opportunity to collect a handmade Valentine’s gift for someone special or add a unique piece to your own collection.
Big Brothers Big Sisters recognizes the support of event sponsors Roger & Joanie Newman and Kathy Toomey of New View Realty. Additional sponsors include Beth & Digit Laughridge, Corrie Woods & Jay Lichty of Lichty Guitars, David & Susan Newlin of Song Hill Reserve, HomeTrust Bank, Susan & John Daly, Don & Susan Hagedorn, Bailey & Elizabeth Nager and the Tryon Daily Bulletin.
