County reviews permits, plats over the last decade
COLUMBUS—Polk County’s building permits issued and plats recorded over the last decade have overall increased.
The Polk County Board of Commissioners recently reviewed its annual audit report for fiscal year 2018-2019, which ended June 30, 2019. The audit report contains statistical data about the county over the last decade.
In 2010, the county issued 54 building permits and recorded 143 plats compared to 2019, when the county issued 78 building permits and recorded 173 plats, according to the audit report.
The largest year over the last decade for building permits was in 2018, when the county issued 90 permits. The lowest year in the last decade for building permits was in 2011, when it issued 34 building permits.
Plats recorded in the county have been up and down over the last decade but overall increased. The largest number of plats recorded over the past decade occurred in 2017 with 194 plats recorded. The lowest number of plats recorded over the past decade occurred in 2013, when 128 plats were recorded, according to the audit report.
