The Polk County Historical Association is throwing a birthday party of sorts this Saturday for Polk County. On Monday, January 20th the county turned 165 years old. The directors of the historical organization wanted to share this milestone with the community.

This Saturday at the Polk County Historical Museum in downtown Columbus, there will be an opportunity to celebrate and tour the local museum. Newly elected Columbus Mayor, Pat McCool, will welcome all those in attendance. The museum’s birthday party will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end around 3:00 p.m

New history exhibits will be on display. Please come learn more about our fascinating county and spend some time in our genealogy center.
