NCDOT closing Lake Adger Road to replace bridge

MILL SPRING—Polk County drivers should be aware that the state could close Lake Adger Road as early as this Monday, Jan. 20. 

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is replacing the bridge on the gravel portion of Lake Adger Road, which is near the Sunny View Fire Department substation. 

A detour will be set up to either Highway 9 North or to Coopers Gap Road to Lake Adger Road, or from the lower side a detour will be accessible from Silver Creek to Lake Adger Road. 

County officials said this week that the road could be closed for several months in order for the state to replace the bridge and get the road reopened.
