Applicants who will be attending college in the fall of 2020 are more favorable to receive the scholarship. Students are being asked to fill out an application and attach an essay of 200 words or more describing how community service has impacted them as a citizen. They are also asked to attach their high school transcripts with the application. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must obtain their high school diploma.

Students at Landrum High School are able to go through the guidance counselors to pick up and drop off applications. For students that are homeschooled, go to a private institution or those who do not attend Landrum High School can download the application off of the Fire Department website at www.landrumfire.com. Applications can be mailed to Landrum Area Fire & Rescue P.O. Box 71, Landrum, SC 29365.

Applications are due no later than 3:00 p.m. on February 28, 2020. Recipients are expected to hear something in the Spring of 2020. Scholarship winners are required to complete ten hours of community service to help current needs in the community.
