Patient Access Supervisor Will Taunton recently received St. Luke’s Hospital’s Teammate of the Year Goose Award at their annual awards dinner held at the Rural Seed Restaurant in Columbus. The special event recognized and celebrated the 2019 monthly Goose Award winners.

Initiated in July 2019, Goose Award nominations are reviewed by St. Luke’s Hospital’s Senior Team during the last week of each month, and the Goose Award is presented the first week of the following month. At the end of the year, the monthly winners are entered into the Teammate of the Year Award opportunity at a dinner hosted in their honor. Recipients of the prestigious award for 2019 include Debra Hill, Tammy Haines, Joyce Newman, Will Taunton, Tena McDowell and Sommar Waters.

“We are delighted that each of these hard-working professionals had an opportunity to be recognized for their dedication and commitment to patients and teammates,” said CEO Michelle Fortune. “We congratulate each one and especially Will Taunton who truly stands out among the best of the best.”

This unique award received its name because of the nature of geese to fly together as a team that remains strong and committed to their purpose and direction. Through storms, winds and unexpected challenges, geese continue forward, supporting one another as they fly. The newest members of the flock learn from the experienced and they preserve their purpose.
