FOREST CITY – Anna Mae Wilson Carpenter, 81, of Forest City passed away, Monday morning, December 16, 2019 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Elk View, WV, she was the daughter of the late Denver Wilson and Dolpha Paxton Wilson. She and her husband moved to Tryon in 1996 coming from Zanesville, OH then moved to Forest City. Mrs. Carpenter enjoyed flowers, gardening and Atlanta Braves Baseball. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Columbus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and two half-brothers.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Carpenter; two sons, Terry Carpenter of Spindale and Ron Carpenter (Andra) of Edneyville; two daughters, Marsha Thomas (Melvin) of Rutherfordton and Lynn Flinchum (Wally) of Dublin, VA; one half-brother, Rodney Wilson of Florida; five grandchildren, Tyler Nickols (Hannah), Brett Carpenter (Lexi), Ashlyn Montgomery (David), Mark Minor and Keigan Carpenter; two step granddaughters, Brittney Tilson and Ginger Loberger. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 21, 2019 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Wilson and Rev. Kevin Rohm officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be private in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
