Volunteer boards in Landrum have vacancies

LANDRUM–The Landrum City Council announced at the meeting on Tuesday night that there are vacancies on multiple boards.

The boards with availability are the Planning Commission Board, the Architectural Design and Review Board, and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

For the Planning Commission Board and Board of Zoning Appeals, anyone that is interested in serving on either of those will have to be a Landrum resident. As for the Architectural Design and Review Board, it is not a requirement to live in the Landrum area.

The Planning Commission board meets roughly seven to eight times a year.

If you are interested on how things look, the Architectural Design and Review Board may be right for you. This board meets three times a year and, at times, can host meetings by email.

The Board of Zoning Appeals meets once a year to discuss all of the zoning matters that arises.

Each of these boards gather to discuss whether to approve or deny opportunities that come up which are relatable to each board. Furthermore, each board’s main goal is to improve Landrum in the best way it can.

If you or someone you know may be interested in one of these positions, you can call the Landrum Town Hall to get more information on the position.
