According to FENCE Executive Director Tracie Hanson, “The turnout was much larger than the year before, I would say twenty-five percent more.” She continued by complimenting how great the weather was because last year it rained for the entirety of the event. This year, guests were able to stuff their bellies and enjoy a cloudy day with family and friends around the shucking table and fire.

Proceeds from this yearly gathering benefit the general fund and TROT, the therapeutic riding program at FENCE.

When asked to describe the event, Hanson simply said in one word, “fabulous.” It is a great occasion for people to share a common love of horses, gumbo and/or oysters to join together and enjoy one another. Hanson said FENCE would love to continue to host this event for years to come.
