LANDRUM- Our Carolina Foothills (OCF) along with the Landrum Area Business Association  (LABA) hosted the first Taste of Landrum event on Thursday, November 14th. The event went off without a hitch as twelve local restaurants and businesses formed a path of new experiences.

All of those in attendance received a pamphlet at check in, which included each business involved in the event along with their addresses. The food that would be served at each stop, along with the restaurant name, was given in the pamphlet as well. Director for OCF Mindy Weiner added, “This event allows the Foothills community to learn about the businesses in our backyards that we may have never been to.”

OCF believes, “Four Towns, Two States, One Great Experience!” reinforces that state lines do not matter. We will continue to focus on our EAT, STAY, PLAY theme to promote all levels of local tourism-related businesses.” Taste of Landrum did exactly what they believe in.

When asked if the event turnout was what the OCF board anticipated, Weiner replied that they had exceeded what they expected and was thankful to see so many members of the community come out and enjoy.

Weiner also mentioned that she was surprised at the many attendees that were not from the foothills. Weiner shared that she had met some people that had traveled four hours for this event.

Because of the incredible turnout Weiner said, “I hope in the future there will be a Taste of Columbus, Tryon and Saluda to join in on the event.”  The event was created so that members of the local communities could see and discover what valuable businesses call Landrum home and there are equally valuable restaurants and businesses in the other three towns of the foothills.

Be on the lookout for future events put on by Our Carolina Foothills and the local towns.
