Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A staged reading of climate change plays by international and national playwrights will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop. Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA) is a worldwide series of readings and performances of short plays from around the world presented biennially to coincide with the United Nations COP. This year coincides with the UN Santiago Climate Conference.

Co-produced by Deborah Fitzgerald, Ph.D. and Catherine Gillet, and directed by Catherine Gillet, the play readings will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from various organizations. Brook Wood, a Ph.D. candidate in Fine Arts at Texas Tech University, will interview some local participants as part of his nationwide study – commissioned by CCTA – to understand what the impact of art might be on people’s perceptions of and their motivations. Tryon was selected as one of the few places where he will do in-person interviews.
