Giving Back One Step at a Time: Tryon Running Club & Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry Host Half Marathon

Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry (Outreach) and the Tryon Running Club are hosting the Tryon Half Marathon on Saturday, November 16 at Harmon Field in Tryon. This annual race, presented by Wells Fargo Advisors of Tryon, will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy scenic mountain views without all the hills.

“Fall temperatures and a mostly dirt and gravel course that meanders along the Pacolet River through Tryon’s horse country are all that is needed to make this an unbelievable running experience,” says Katheryn Gordon of the Tryon Running Club. Add to that our renowned hot breakfast and pottery awards and you have a race to remember. To register or to learn more about the race, visit www.tryonrunners.blogspot.com.

Thanks to our sponsors like PRO Physical Therapy of Columbus, 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Outreach. “It takes endurance, dedication and focus to outrun poverty in Polk County. We are grateful to be part of this exciting, annual event,” said Outreach Executive Director, George Alley. Main Street/Swimmer Insurance Group, Entegra Bank and Natures Storehouse are also valued sponsors of this community event.
