New season…new lights!

To kick off their new season in September, and to “highlight” their opening play, Tryon Little Theater unveiled the new lighting system at their workshop in Tryon. Thanks to a generous grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, lights, a lighting board, a lighting grid and LED energy efficient lighting was installed.

“The new system is totally portable, puts off no heat into the small black box theater and lights don’t need gels to change color—the computer can be programmed to do it all,” says Chris Tinkler, who helped with installation and is teaching volunteers how to program the computer for future shows.

Sandie Bright, President of TLT, says that the old system was always breaking down or overpowering the electrical system and it wasn’t programmable either.

“Now we have a modern, safe and flexible lighting solution for our productions and I cannot thank the Polk County Community Foundation enough for their support,” says Bright.
