Democratic Donkey Alert

Published 11:15 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2019

Admiral, the Miniature Donkey, made an appearance at the Polk County Democratic Party’s Headquarters during the Women’s Club’s monthly breakfast on Saturday, October 5. Admiral spent some quality time with Nola Staton under the watchful eye of his friend Jean Wright and Nola’s mother, Rachel.

The donkey was first adopted by Democrats during the presidential campaign of 1828, when opponents labeled Democrat Andrew Jackson the not so complementary alternative name of a donkey, which he adopted and make it a badge of honor.
