The Tryon Parks Committee has scheduled a brush clean up for the Carolina Drive entrance to Woodland Park. On Wednesday, September 25th there is a need for volunteers to aid in removing much of the overgrowth. Their effort will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end by 11:30 a.m.

Interested residents are encouraged to wear long pants, gloves and to bring some sort of cutting tools, pruners, loppers or saws. The activity will begin next to the parking lot to the side of the IGA Superrmarket that adjoins Woodland Park.

Much of the problem at Woodland Park is the excessive growth from several exotic plant species such as privet, wisteria, English ivy and kudzu. Plans are to remove as many invasive plants as practical.

Please come help make a difference inside Woodland Park.
