Operation Medicine Drop

Help protect your family, community and environment by taking your unused prescription or over-the-counter medications for proper anonymous disposal on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at CVS Pharmacy in Columbus. 

 

Accepted items: pills, capsules, patches, gels, powders, ointments, syrups and liquids, medication samples, medications for pets, vitamins and sharps. If possible, keep drugs in original containers or sealed plastic bags. To ensure privacy, peel off or mark out

Not Accepted items: Thermometers, IV bags, hydrogen peroxide, empty containers, inhalers, infectious waste and personal care items.

 

Permanent Medication Drop Boxes are located at the following:

  • Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Polk County Sheriff’s Department
  • Columbus Police Department
  • Tryon Police Department
  • Saluda Police Department
