Opening night is Thursday for “The Book Club Play”

Thursday, September 19, is opening night for Tryon Little Theater’s “The Book Club Play” being performed at the TLT Workshop Theater in Tryon. This season opener is directed by Nancy Winker and written by Karen Zacarias—one of the most produced playwrights in the country.

The play has been described as being like “Lord of the Flies with Wine and Dip”— a comedy about books and the people who love them. When the book club becomes the subject of a famous documentary film maker, however, and a new member upsets the equilibrium of the long-standing group of friends, things take a hilarious turn.
