For more than a decade, Steps to HOPE has hosted an Adopt-A-Family program for area families at Christmastime. It is our goal to ensure that all children in our service area have holidays filled with surprises and joy. Thanks to the Seasonal Assistance Grant from the Polk County Community Foundation and donors that include individuals, families, civic and social groups, as well as businesses in our area, along with donations from the Polk County Toy Run, we have been able to provide for children who might not otherwise have anything under the tree or a tree at all. 

 

As is witnessed in retail stores already, Christmas will be here before we know it. We are currently talking to donors who wish to participate and will start taking applications from needy families beginning November 1st. If you or your organization or business would like to help, please call Cindy Wicklund at 828-894-2340. We also need “Christmas elves” to help wrap  gifts! We will provide coffee or hot chocolate and some Christmas goodies! Help us make some Christmas magic!
