On September 9, nine residents and staff resurrected Tryon Estates’ commitment to “Adopt a Highway.” For an hour and a half, they picked up litter along Peniel Rd in Columbus from Golden Rd to Hayes Rd. Nine bags of trash were collected. From now on, the cleanup will take place either annually or semi-annually, “but in a cooler month earlier in the day,” said Katherine Jeter, the event’s organizer.
