A group of Polk County Middle School students studied the importance of water and taking care of our water resources during an AIG Summer Seminar offered by Polk County Schools.

Students enjoyed learning about water quality indicators and the ranges of acceptable drinking water. They also took a trip to Harmon Field to learn about the Stream Bank Restoration Project being conducted to save the banks of the Pacolet River.

The students were most excited to learn to snorkel in the rivers to find macroinvertabrates, fish and salamanders.
