Polk County District Court results

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 79 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Bobby Dean Burgess was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Burgess was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for time served.

Tabetha Barnett Drake was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Drake was fined $50 and court costs. 

Laura Anne Freeman was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Freeman was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served. 

Kevon Devan Green was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Green was fined $10. 

Edward Deon Hannah was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Hannah was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs. 

Jesse Ray Shelton was convicted of a probation violation. Shelton was sentenced to 90 days in jail then probation will be terminated. 

Justin Alexander Stepp was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Stepp was fined $40 and court costs. 

April Wilson was convicted of two counts of worthless check simple and two counts of worthless check closed account. Wilson was sentenced to on year unsupervised probation, $374 in restitution and court costs.
