Tryon Little Theater announces cast for The Book Club

“The Book Club” is Tryon Little Theater’s first show of the season, and what better way to kick off the theatrical year than with a comedy. Written by Karen Zacarías, who was recently hailed by American Theatre magazine as one of the most produced playwrights in the United States, the play is about life, love, literature and the side-splitting results when friends start reading between the lines.

Playing Ana, a type “A” personality, is Brenda Craig. Guy Winker is Rob, her handsome underachiever husband and Mark Sawyer plays Will, Rob’s conservative college roommate (and also Ana’s ex-boyfriend). Lori Lee is Jen, a shy, unorganized young woman who tends to spew awkward truths at awkward moments and Lily, played by Alaina Goode, is a former debate captain who manages, quite often, to put her foot in her mouth. Lucas Laughter plays Alex, a very smart, well-read academic and Alex Tapp is the Pundit, often called on to give his expert opinion.
