Three seats up for grabs in November

LANDRUM—Filing for the 2019 Landrum City Council municipal elections is nearing an end. The City of Landrum will close filing for Municipal elections on Friday, August 9th at 12:00 p.m.

The City of Landrum will hold its non-partisan general election on Tuesday November 5, for the offices of three city council seats, filing opened on July 6. Anyone interested in running for office must be a Spartanburg County registered voter and a resident of the City of Landrum.

Interested candidates must pay the $100 filing fee to the Landrum City Clerk and attach their receipt to their completed Statement of Candidacy form. The Statement of Candidacy form is available at Landrum City Hall, the County Voter Registration and Elections Office, or from the scvoters.org website. 

Forms must be turned in to the SC Voter Registration and Elections office by the August 9 deadline. Additional files must be submitted electronically to comply with the SC Code of Laws, those forms are the: Statement of Economic Interests, Pre-Campaign Disclosure, and Post Campaign. 

The three city council seats that will be up for grabs in November are currently held by; Joyce Whiteside, Johnny Carruth, and Shannon Dotson. 

As of Tuesday, August 6th no one has filed for the City Council positions. Including the three incumbents that would be up for reelection.
