Link “Spud” Ambrose Ravan, Jr. age 78, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday July 4, 2019 at his home.
Spud was born March 8, 1941 in Polk County, NC, to the late Link Ambrose Ravan, Sr. and Mamie Cantrell Ravan. He retired from Pike Electric as a lineman. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was proud to be an American. Spud cherished his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid enthusiast of dirt track racing a faithful member of Harris First Baptist Church, and retired Captain of Polk County Rescue Squad.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Linda Dedmon Ravan; two daughters, Tracy Waters (James “Tank”) of Tryon and Tammy Herrmann (Craig) of Forest City; grandchildren, Yancy Pace ( Quinton Price) of Mill Spring, Ezekiel Herrmann of Forest City; a great-grandchild, Keaton Price; a sister, Jan Gustavel of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Harrelson Funeral Home, Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Harris First Baptist Church with Reverend George Whitmire officiating.
