Pump down at Tryon’s Triangle Stop

Tryon – Friday, June 14, Tryon Police Department responded to a call at the Tryon Food and Fuel, also referred to as the Triangle Stop.  A young man, age 17, backed into a diesel pump at the filling station damaging the diesel pump. The driver said he did not know he had hit the pump. Mr. Masters, who owns the Tryon Food and Fuel station, the young man and his father have agreed to work out an arrangement to have the pump fixed. The young man was cited for driving without an operator’s license. Tryon Police Department estimate the damages at around $1,500. However, a source in the petroleum industry estimates the damages are over $4,000.
