LANDRUM—On Thursday, June 20, the Landrum Library will be hosting a children’s read along event about ladybugs. The event is ladybug themed, with the arts and crafts project allowing children the opportunity to make their very own ladybug craft to take home. The event is aimed at preschoolers between the ages of three and five but all ages under 12 are invited to attend. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run until approximately 11:15 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

If the weather permits, the library staff plans to conclude the event by going into the library garden and releasing 1,500 live ladybugs. The library encourages visitors to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the garden following the ladybug release.

This event is just one of the many wonderful summer programs that the Landrum Library will be putting on this summer. The library hosts multiple events per work aimed at a variety of ages throughout the summer months. The full calendar of upcoming events can be found online by going to the Spartanburg County libraries website (www.spartanburglibraries.org), and following the links to the Landrum page.
