Rodney Theodore Mike

On Thursday, June 6 2019, Rodney Mike known by many as “Pops” succumbed to cancer at age 77. He was a loving husband and father to 5 children.  

Rodney was born May 26, 1942 in Southbridge, MA to Theodore and Arlene Mike. In 1975 he married Penelope, they raised three sons, Ernie, Danny, Roy and two daughters Christina and Anna.  

Rodney was a truck driver, driving cross-country east to west coast for Keen Transport. During his career he won many awards for safety, multiply times driver of the year and million-mile club. He began his career on his grandfather’s farm hauling produce to market. He loved driving cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, even large equipment, he found joy in all of them.

Rodney enjoyed spending the weekends with family or watching NASCAR. He found the most joy spending time with his family. He always put his family first. He was a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  

No services will be held at his request. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donation can be made to Bonnie Brae Veterinary Hospital Angel Fund, 155 Shuford Rd, Columbus, NC, 28722.
