Gibson Park Pool opens this Saturday 

 

COLUMBUS—The Polk County Recreation Department has opened signups for Fall soccer and volleyball.  

Parents will have until Aug. 2 to sign their children up for soccer and until Aug. 30 to sign their children up for volleyball. 

The recreation department recently changed the way it holds sign up for sports. Sign ups will be held open for two months and anyone who signs up after the deadline will be automatically put on a waiting list without any guarantee of being placed on a team.  

Sign ups can be done by visiting Stearns Gym in Columbus or going to the Recreation tab at polknc.org.  

Polk County’s Gibson Park pool will also open soon.  The opening date for the public pool is this Saturday, June 8. Residents can sign up for swim lessons, pool parties and season passes by visiting the recreation and program tabs at polknc.org.
