Get to know Your Polk County Historical Association
On Tuesday, June 4th the Polk County Historical Association is hosting a reception for members, volunteers and potential new member. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue to 7:30 p.m. at the Polk County History Museum on 60 Walker Street in Columbus.
The purpose for the reception is to share some ideas and get feedback from friends and supporters of local history. The activity will feature information about the history of the association, the most recent accomplishments and to help share a vision for the future of this historical organization.
Members and other attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the officers and other board members. As volunteer historians we want your input on what direction you feel our association and museum should be headed.
Hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments will be provided. Tour the museum and come learn about your county’s history. If you’re not a member you may just decide it is important to you to join the fight to help preserve our local artifacts and other aspects of our rich county history.
