Polk County offers local businesses and start-ups information and regulatory guidance

Current business owners and entrepreneurs considering starting a new venture in Polk County can turn to Polk County Local Government for helpful information and assistance with navigating government requirements. 

Senior Business Specialist Lindsey McGaha works directly with County Manager Marche Pittman to foster local business and boost economic development efforts. 

In her role, McGaha also helps people launching or growing businesses in Polk County by providing information to them about building permits and local zoning, business licenses, tax requirements, employer guidelines, alternate funding sources such as government and nonprofit loan programs and more.

She also connects people with other community resources including Isothermal Community College, SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), federal and state agencies and Polk County municipalities.
