Polk Central Elementary students recently had a chance to step out of the classroom and take a field trip to a local farm. 

The students traveled to Grace Farm in Rutherfordton. The farm is the home of Derick and Leann Wilson, parents of Colton Wilson, who is a student in Laura Howald’s pre-kindergarten class. 

Students viewed two poultry houses with 40,000 chickens, fed two horses, took a hay ride, fed and pet cattle, played on the playground and enjoyed a snack of ice cream and drinks before heading back to school. 

It’s safe to say they all had a moooarvelous time and made great memories!
