At their Annual Meeting held on May 15 at Cam Brandon’s home, the Tryon Garden Club was proud to announce the induction of Jackie Weedon into the Second Wind Hall of Fame. Susan Kelley, President of the Tryon Garden Club, made the announcement along with Manfred Walter, Board Member of the Second Wind Hall of Fame.
Jackie currently serves as Secretary of TGC’s Board of Directors as well as Co-chair of the Membership Committee. She is also an active member of the Hospitality Committee.
Since moving from California to Polk County in 2008, Jackie has been busy in many volunteer capacities including President of the Foothills Association of Master Gardeners, sewing instructor at 4-H and Secretary of the 4-H Foundation, and she spends many hours a year serving the Western NC Master Gardeners Symposium. Jackie is also a talented member of the Congregational Church Choir and Parish Life.
The Second Wind Hall of Fame is a 40 year old 501(c)(3) organization of over 200 members whose mission is to identify outstanding local volunteers and celebrate their contributions to the quality of life in our community.
Jackie Weedon definitely deserves her membership in this unique organization.
