TFAC Stage Door Series presents local author Kathy Gruhn

Local author, Kathy Thorson Gruhn, will perform four, funny stories from her recent book, Drug Tested for Being Happyin addition to playing her Dobro with accompaniment, Tyron Thorson, on guitar at the Tryon Fine Arts Center, Stage Door Series on May 28, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The setting is the main stage and it is open to the theatre and seats sixty people very comfortably. The program is appropriate for all audiences. 

Jack Canfield, creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, heard a couple of Kathy’s stories and told her to write a book, perform them and bring more laughter into the world. Kathy’s mission is to raise money for local charities and to share clean humor with the community. The last performance in November sold out and money was raised for the JAM program. This program will have different stories and music from the last performance. 

The style of the performance is similar to Prairie Home Companion with stories, music and jokes reflecting Kathy’s Minnesota heritage. Gourmet hors d’oeuvresd provided for free and catered by Mary Prioleau. Wine and beer may be purchased at the event before the performance and during intermission. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
