Western Carolina Hunter Pace & Trail Ride Series 

 

Here are the results from the 2nd annual Cannon Equine Hunter Pace event held Sunday, May 5th at Croft State Park.

There were 23 riders who braved the questionable weather, in 13 teams. The trail length was 7 miles and the Mini-Pace course was 3.5 miles. 

 

Here are the results: 

 

In the Field Hunter Division there were 17 riders in ten teams. The Optimum Time was one hour, ten minutes, nine seconds. 

 

The First Place Blue was awarded to Linda Plummer of Clover, with a time of one hour, ten minutes, 47 seconds, just 38 seconds over the optimum! Second Place red ribbons were awarded to Debbie Croft from Anderson and Diane Hicks from Pendleton with the time of one hour, seven minutes, 54 seconds.  Third Place Honor was awarded to Shannon Jackson from Ellenboro with a time of one hour, seven minutes, 48 seconds. Fourth Place white ribbons were earned by Karolin Eichler and Gabrielle Grubic, both from Rock Hill, who finished with the time of one hour, five minutes, 55 seconds. Fifth Place honor went to Beth Fiszer of Roebuck, who turned in a time of one hour, 23 minutes, 19 seconds.  Rounding out the placements in the Field Hunter Division, Sixth Place was awarded to Susan Haslam of Asheville with a time of one hour, 26 minutes, 38 seconds. 

 

Other Field Hunters on the course that day were Tamara Bruning, Karolin EichlerShalise Gallaher, Christina Goen, Lauren Greco, Nina Hopper, Emily Mitchell, Seamus Sheehan, and Madison & Paige Stout. 

 

In the Trail Rider Division there were six riders in three teams. The Calculated Optimum Time was one hour, 55 minutes, 15 seconds.  

 

First Place Honors were awarded to the trio of Susannah Sitton from Mill Spring and Carrie & Olive Wilsey of Hendersonville with a time of one hour, 58 minutes, 41 seconds.  Kelly Cannon of Roebuck and Emily Wojcik of Boiling Springs took the Second Place red ribbons with a ride time of one hour, 37 minutes, 57 seconds. Ronnie Mann also came out to ride and support the event.
