Landrum and Campobello Fire active in the community
LANDRUM & CAMPOBELLO—On Thursday May 9, the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District and the Campobello Fire Department will be installing residential smoke detectors in qualifying homes at no charge.
The Landrum Are Fire and Rescue District and Campobello Fire Department are able to do this with the support of the American Red Cross and Fire Safe South Carolina.
As a reminder to residents; there should be a smoke alarm on every level of your home, inside every sleeping area and outside of the sleeping area as well as one in the living room. Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years, alarms that have a 10 year sealed battery are preferred but otherwise batteries should be changed twice a year and tested monthly.
To qualify for this free service, you must be a resident of either the Town of Campobello or the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District. In addition, you must allow fire personnel into your home to professionally install and test the alarms, new and existing.
Residents that are interested in having a free smoke alarm installed should send their name, address, and contact phone number to smokealarm@landrumfire.com.
