JAMES (MARTY) HAMILTON

Mill Spring – Born Oct. 20, 1933 in Mill Spring, NC went to be with our Lord on May 4,2019. After serving in the US Army, Marty moved to Florida in 1963 with his family. He retired in 1996 after 31 years at the Kennedy Space Center, where he was presented the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award by Astronaut Bob Crippen. 

 

He selflessly gave of his time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for 10 yrs. Followed by 10 yrs. volunteering at Parrish Medical Center.

Being a member of IRC Methodist Church since 1964, he gave of his time and services to many projects including helping to construct the Chapel, Nehemiah’s Neighbors Kitchen Ministry and Ushering. 

 

Words cannot express what a loving, caring and giving husband, father and PaPa he was.  He will be greatly missed until we meet again. 

 

Family include his wife of 63 yrs., Sybil B. Hamilton. Son and daughter-in-law, Roger Hamilton and Pam Lanternman. Daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Gordon. Grandson Tanner Phillipp. Grandson and wife, Chris and Lauren Phillipp. Great grand daughters, Layla Phillipp and Madeline Phillipp. Brothers, Bobby, Bill, Pat, Bruce and Cotton (Andrew) Hamilton.  Sisters, Barbara Horton and Annette Bain. Preceeded in death by parents, Robert and Gladys Hamilton, brother Shannon and Marty’s twin Jacky.
